Right, I want to get into a school focusing on the arts. I'm better at visual arts and can present it better in an interview, so I've decided to go for it. Now, I have to prepare an art portfolio consisting of previous art pieces: "You should include in your portfolio, where possible: 2 pieces of artworks that are based on observation. These artworks should show your ability to observe and represent something realistically. 2 pieces of artworks that are based on imagination. These artworks should show your ability to imagine and create from your thoughts and emotions. 2 pieces of artworks that show where you find inspiration for your artworks. For example, a ceramic work that is inspired by music, or a poster that is designed to create environmental awareness. 2 sketchbooks or collection of sketches that show what you like to draw or sketch regularly. 1 colour photocopy image of an artwork or design work created by a known artist or designer that has inspired you. " The test to qualify students for admission to the school is...an event held at the school's Talent Academy. I did a self-portrait today which I can bring along for the two pieces of artwork for observation. I could also bring my painting of a boat at sea for the artworks that are based on imagination. (the painting represents my -cough- slight -cough- struggle in life.) Also, which artist's work should I take for the colour photocopy image? I'm thinking of one of Vincent Van Gogh's flower paintings. I need lots of help right now - so if you offer me any I'll be very very happy.
