So.... I don't like talking about my fears. Simple as that. However I have this REALLY irrational fear of the telephone.
I think I'm getting better, honestly, but I procrastinate for the longest time when I need to make a phone call. I had originally planned to wake up at around eight this morning and call, but I didn't even pick up the phone and actually dial the number til 11:40.
I just feel anxiety every time I talk to someone I don't know on the phone. I'm a very... personal person and prefer to have conversations in person.[however I don't mind talking to people online at all?] It's just I have this irrational fear of talking on the telephone to people I don't know. When I made a call a few months ago, I felt like crying after I got off.
Anyways, after I got on the phone today, I talked to a nice woman, and I felt my fear go away surprisingly although I still wanted the call to be over with, but it's necessarily when you need to make an appointment, eh? I just wonder if there is a way I can get over this feeling every time I have to call someone. Any suggestions?

Plan out what you need to tell the person? No, not exactly what it is. If you need to make an appointment, write down what the appointment is for, what times would be best, and everything beforehand. Copy it down again if it makes you feel better, then make the call. That could help.
I have a fear of leaving messages if someone's not available. I can't just tell them the purpose of the call, no matter how many times I run through it. I worry that it'll sound awkward, or that it wasn't important enough for a message. If I don't hang up, the message ends up being really awkward. 0-0;

I have the same fear. I get terrified when someone calls, I pick up the phone and it's not the voice of someone I know. Yet I don't get frightened online.
